How much is the entrance fee in 2026?

Foreign visitors pay ARS 40,000 per person to enter Tierra del Fuego National Park, and children aged 0–6 go in free. These are the fees published by Argentina’s national parks service (APN) for the schedule in force since 1 June 2026. You buy the ticket directly from the parks service, online or at the entrance. No tour, agent or reseller is needed to get in.

The May 2026 increase raised the Argentine and student fares. The foreign-visitor fee stayed at ARS 40,000. If you have seen lower figures, they come from earlier years or from tour listings that have not been updated. Some operators still quote ARS 30,000.

What is that in US dollars?

The fee is set and charged in Argentine pesos. What it costs you in dollars depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay and on how you pay, which is why we do not give a fixed USD figure. Any dollar amount from 2023 or 2024 is out of date. Check a current rate against ARS 40,000 shortly before your visit.

Second day at half price

A second visit within 72 hours of your first entry costs 50% of the fee. In this park the discount applies only to tickets bought online, so buy online if you think you might come back. The local tourism board lists the two-day total for foreign visitors as ARS 60,000. For longer trips around Argentina, the parks service also sells Flexipass tickets for 3 and 7 days and an annual pass for all national parks at ARS 300,000.

Where and how to buy

The official sale is on the parks service website at ventaweb.apn.gob.ar/reserva/USH, the same page the End of the World Train sends its passengers to. Buying online means you arrive with a ticket, you get the second-day discount, and you are not relying on the gate’s payment options.

You can also pay at the park entrance. Recent visitor guides say the gate takes cash or card, but one guide says cash only, and we could not confirm it from the parks service. Buying online avoids the question. If you are also riding the End of the World Train, that is the booking to make early: the railway advises buying ahead, especially in high season.

Opening hours

The park stays open through the winter. The longer trails, including Senda Costera, Cerro Guanaco, Hito XXIV and Pampa Alta, open only from November to April. Road access to Ensenada Zaratiegui is often restricted in winter too. These seasonal hours are the only ones published; if you plan to go on an Argentine public holiday, check the APN page before you set out.

What the ticket does not include

The entry ticket lets you into the park’s public areas, trails and car parks. It does not cover:

• Transport. The park entrance is about 11 km west of Ushuaia. Park minibuses leave from the corner of Av. Maipú and Juana Fadul; otherwise you need a taxi, a car or a tour.
• A guide. The trails are signposted, but there is no commentary unless you join a tour.
• Food. The Alakush visitor centre has a cafeteria and restaurant, open 10:00–17:30.
• The End of the World Train. It is a separate company with its own fares.

If you drive, the speed limit inside the park is 40 km/h, with six car parks, from the entrance to Bahía Lapataia. In winter, snow tyres or chains are reported to be required.

The train fare never includes the park ticket

Every End of the World Train passenger needs a park ticket, even one who rides the round trip and never leaves the carriage, because the line runs inside the park. The train’s own fares (ARS 80,000 for an adult Turista ticket from October 2026) do not include it. Neither do the train options on most park tours. Don’t want to arrange transport yourself?

Getting a ticket is easy; getting to the park, between its stops and back to town is the harder part without a car. A guided tour solves that.
