Per person or per group: reading the prices

Private shore tours are priced in two different ways, and the headline figures are not directly comparable.

Three of the four are priced per person. For a private tour, the per-person rate usually depends on how many of you there are, so the “from” figure may not be what a couple pays each. Enter your real party size in the booking calendar before comparing totals.

The End of the World Private Shore Excursion, Half-day is priced per group: $660 covers the booking, not each person, and a booking takes up to 12 travellers. That makes it the easiest price to compare against the others for a family or a group of friends. Note that all sales on it are final.

For scale, the shared GetYourGuide cruise tour is $120 per person, the same price it showed for an 8 October 2026 departure. The park fee and the train are extra on it too.

What each listing says about getting back to the ship

None of these tours is run by your cruise line, so the return depends on each operator’s own arrangements. Here is what the listings themselves say.

• The National Park PRIVATE Shore Excursion says the tour starts when your ship arrives and that the operator makes sure you are back on time. It asks for at least 6 hours in Ushuaia and your ship’s exact schedule.
• The Private Shore Excursion, National Park lists a “Worry-Free Shore Excursion Guarantee” among its inclusions. The listing does not spell out its terms, so ask the operator what it covers before you book.
• The 5.5-Hour Park with Hiking, Private Shore Excursion ends at Lapataia Bay “before returning to the ship”, and says that if your ship’s call is cancelled for bad weather, the deposit is refunded in full.
• The per-group tour contacts every passenger by WhatsApp after booking to reconfirm the schedule and meeting point. Its listing makes no return promise.

Whichever you choose, give the operator your arrival and all-aboard times, and remind the guide on the day.

The four tours in more detail

The Private Shore Excursion, National Park is the only private shore tour here whose price includes the national park tickets, along with port pickup and drop-off and a local guide. It runs about 4 hours, with scenic walks along the park’s lakes. It is also the priciest per person, from $492, and it is rated 4.5 from 30 reviews on Viator.

The National Park PRIVATE Shore Excursion picks you up inside the harbour with a specialised guide, for about 5 hours. Its route takes in Lake Roca, the Alakush visitor centre, Lapataia Bay and Ensenada Zaratiegui, where the post office is often closed. The train ticket and the park entry fee are both excluded, so budget for the park fee on top of the $273 from-price.

The End of the World Private Shore Excursion meets you at the cruise ship gate for about 4 hours with private transport and a guide, and ends with the photo at the sign marking the end of the Pan-American Highway. Its listing says it is wheelchair accessible, that small children can ride in a pram or stroller, and that infant seats are available. The park entrance is excluded.

The 5.5-Hour Park with Hiking tour is the one for walkers. Your guide waits at the port exit with a welcome sign, and the day includes forest trails, lakeshore and Beagle Channel shore walks, with a snack. The listing advises walking shoes or boots for wet, muddy ground and a waterproof jacket. Park fees are paid by credit card at the park entry, and lunch and tips are extra.

The shared alternative on GetYourGuide

The shared cruise tour on GetYourGuide meets you at the Tourist Port and brings you back there after about 5 hours. It is rated 4.4 from 43 reviews, with free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. Travellers who buy a train ticket ride about an hour into the park; the rest take a guided walk and rejoin the group. The stops are Lapataia Bay, Laguna Verde, Lake Roca and Zaratiegui Cove. The listing marks it unsuitable for wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments, which is where the wheelchair-accessible per-group private tour has an edge.

Private tour, or a taxi from the port?

Taxis are an option for independent travellers, but there is no published fare to plan around, and a taxi driver is not a guide. Park minibuses leave from the corner of Av. Adding the train

None of these private shore tours includes the End of the World Train. Its station is about 8 km from central Ushuaia and 1 km before the park gate, and trains leave at 9:30, 12:00 and 15:00 from September to April, with seats hardest to get from December to February.
